The beat is the first really calming beat on the album and it sounds great again. In Priority we see Yasiin Bey talking about his priorities. How much can you put into a 1 and a half minutes long song? Mos Def initely a lot. Wahid continues the "ECSTATIC" of this album and this album continues to stay dope as fuck. If you can do this shit you instantly hooked me. My weak point is oriental sounding stuff. He is a muslim and he always kinda dedicates his album to god. But I realized later that he did the same things on his album BOBS. As a muslim myself I was pretty confused for the opening of "Supermagic". Mos Def also uses spanish, arabic words and sentences in this album a lot. Hard to even think that after the first 3 tracks but this production totally won my heart. Overall this song left a amazing feel and I already knew that this gonna be one of my most favourite albums of all time. Slick Rick comes in and does what he can do best. Mos def lays a amazing verse, and again catches us with his simple but effective vocals and singing with these effective and catchy as hell interludes. :notes: Dadadadam dadadadam dadadadadam :notes: It feels so in your face that its amazing!Īuditorium continues this amazing vibe even featuring a hip hop master storyteller Slick Rick. I love the way Mos Def uses the production not just to lay his verses on it, but also to enjoy it, making bridges, singing along and just pausing for a moment so we can enjoy the production. Supermagic - Twilite Speedball - Auditorium felt like a 3 streak combo like no other streak ever. After "Supermagic" I expected a lot from the next tracks and they delivered. Like ever! Mos Def flowed perfectly on this beat and I just loved his moments where he just enjoyed the sample himself.Ī perfect start for the album and a amazing start to continue a wonderful streak of tracks on the next trackĬontinue the album with a superhero theme sound alike beat which just nearly breaks your neck listening to it. AMAZING! I cant describe the happiness I felt while listening to this track. Its now almost 14 years and years later this song kicks in with a sample of Selda's song. I have so many great memories from back then. I was like 8 when she listened to her and I remember liking it a lot. She even had many singles of her on Vinyl. My mom loved her songs and she always listened to it in the car when I was younger.

She had amazing songs and her voice was great too. Selda was a extremly popular singer in in my country (Turkey) and my mother knows her very well. It gave me such a amazing and great feel and I couldnt tell why.

When this started it hooked me instantly. Why do I love this album so much? It starts directly with the first track and the sample of it.Īfter that Malcolm X speech the heavy sound of Selda's song "ince ince" kicks in.
